Characterization and High-Temperature Oxidation Behavior of Ni–20Cr Deposits Fabricated by Cold Spray-Based Additive Manufacturing

Hot corrosion is a critical problem in wide range of high-temperature applications. Ni–20Cr alloy frequently used such applications owing to its good hot-corrosion resistance. In the current work, thick plates thickness 6–10 mm were fabricated using cold spray-based additive manufacturing (CSAM). High-pressure spraying was with nitrogen as propellant gas. Pre- (substrate heating, SH) and post-heat treatments (hot isostatic pressing, HIP) also performed comprehend changes deposit properties. The deposits subjected microstructural mechanical characterization explore potential for CSAM standalone products. cold-sprayed successfully developed without any oxide formation. HIP treatment found be useful reduce porosity. substrate-heated exhibited excellent oxidation resistance at high temperature 900 °C.
